This policy explains what the Dominion City Warri HQ mobile app collects, why, who can see it, and how you can have it removed. It applies to the app and to this website.
The data controller is Dominion City Warri HQ, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. Questions go to privacy@dominioncitywarri.com.
What we collect
| Information | Why we hold it |
|---|---|
| Name, email address, phone number, photo | To create your membership profile and let your pastors and cell leader reach you. |
| Membership number, year you joined, cell group, department | To connect you to the right cell, department and announcement channels. |
| Service attendance and check-in records | To show your attendance history and streak, and so leaders can follow up on members they have not seen. |
| Giving records you enter | To give you a personal giving history and to let the finance team reconcile transfers. |
| Prayer requests, including any health, family or financial details you choose to write | So the prayer band can pray for you and pastors can follow up. |
| Testimonies you submit | To share, with your consent, what God has done. |
| Comments, likes and reports in the media feed | To run the feed and to act on reported content. |
| Sermon notes you write | They are yours; we store them so they follow you between devices. |
| Notification preferences and device push token | To send service reminders and messages from your leaders. |
We do not take card or bank payments in the app. Giving is by transfer from your own banking app to the church account. We never see or store your card details, and there is no payment processor involved.
Who can see what
This is the part most policies skip, so we will be specific. Access is enforced by the database itself, not only by what the app chooses to show.
Prayer requests are never visible to other members. Only the pastoral team can read them. The "pray anonymously" option controls whether pastors see your name attached when they follow up — other members cannot see your request either way.
- Your giving is visible to you and to the finance side of the pastoral team. No other member can see it.
- Your attendance is visible to you, your cell leader and pastoral staff.
- Your name and photo are visible to members of your own cell and department, not to the whole church.
- Your sermon notes are visible only to you.
- Comments you post in the media feed are visible to other members.
- Anonymous testimonies are published without your name attached.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of providers. None of them sell your data, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in. Data is stored in the European Union.
- Cloudflare — delivers photos and video, and protects the service from attack.
- OneSignal — delivers push notifications, if you enable them.
Some content links out to YouTube and other platforms run by Dominion City Worldwide. Once you follow those links, their privacy policies apply.
How long we keep it
- Your profile — while your account exists.
- Giving records — seven years, as financial records the church is required to retain, even after you delete your account. They are disconnected from your profile at that point.
- Prayer requests — two years, then deleted.
- Attendance — five years.
- Comments and testimonies — until you or a moderator remove them.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You may also withdraw consent for notifications at any time in the app.
To delete your account, use Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or the form at dominioncitywarri.com/delete-account. We action requests within 30 days.
Children
The app is intended for members aged 13 and over. Children's Church and Teens attendance is recorded by their leaders under a parent's or guardian's account, not by children signing up themselves. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by role and enforced at the database level, so a member cannot reach another member's giving or prayer requests even if the app is modified. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected members promptly if a breach ever puts their data at risk.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will notify members in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
